Carbon monoxide application diminishes the levels of SFlt-1 and sEng in the placenta. Inhalation of 50 ppmCO led to a significant diminution in the expression of the VEGF soluble receptor sFlt-1 at protein level (a, b). CO treatment also diminished the protein levels of sEng as analyzed by Western Blot (c, d). Data are presented as single dots and medians. Statistical significances were evaluated by the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U-test between two groups. ***: p < 0.001.
