Contrast Ultrasound Measurements of Hind Limb Perfusion. Panels A and B are images of the gastrocnemius muscles in the nonischemic and ischemic limbs, respectively, from a single animal minutes after left femoral artery ligation. After microbubble injection, the change in contrast over time can be measured over a manually selected region of interest (ROI) within the image (shown enclosed by a blue line). Panel C is a scatter plot of the change in contrast intensity over time derived from the ROIs in panels A and B. Panels D and E demonstrate the cumulative changes in contrast intensity and the rates of change in intensity, respectively, which are derived from the best fit curves for the scatter plots in panel C.
