NBO treatment or gp91^phoxknock-out significantly reduces BBB disruption after 90-min MCAO with 22.5 hrs of reperfusion. Evans blue leakage in the brain tissue was quantified according to the external standard curve which was generated by plotting the fluorescence intensity against the concentrations of Evans blue. Evans blue leakage was expressed as per gram of brain tissue (ng/g). Compared to the normoxic wild-type group (NA-WT), NBO-treated or gp91^phoxknock-out (KO) mice showed a significant less amount of Evans blue extravasation.
